Somewhere out there, Daniel Radcliffe is rolling around on a bed, naked in his millions. Harry Potter has ended for the actor and although he's been staying busy on the stage with How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, it's time to see what else the English star can bring to the table. We haven't seen him in a un-Harry film since 2007's December Boys. Lucky for us, a longer trailer for his upcoming Hammer movie has arrived at Yahoo, The Woman in Black, and it's definitely a chiller.
Eden Lake's James Watkins directs the Gothic tale that takes place in a small English town. Radcliffe plays Arthur Kipps, a young lawyer who is ordered to travel to a remote village to take care of a recently deceased client's papers. Working in an isolated manor, he begins to uncover a tragic secret that surrounds a mysterious woman dressed in black. The locals are terrified, but Kipps pursues his investigation, desperate to uncover the strange woman's identity.
The script comes from Jane Goldman
, who worked on X-Men: First Class
, and Neil Gaiman's Stardust
, but we're not able to determine its merits since the trailer's only dialogue comes in the form of a voiceover. The atmosphere seems pretty perfect, however, and reminiscent of a throwback to the heyday of Hammer's classic style.
Chris Evans is injecting drugs into his body again, only this time it's not to giving the Captain America actor superhuman strength. He's playing drug-addicted lawyer, Mike Weiss, in the Adam and Mark Kassan feature, Puncture. Vinessa Shaw stars as an ER nurse who is pricked with a contaminated needle. Mark Kazan plays Evan's partner who helps him battle the health supply corporation at the heart of the incident. The smartcode at the trailer's end takes you to the official website for more details. Puncture arrives in theaters September 23.
