Watch a Stop-Motion, Shot-for-Shot Remake of the 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' Opening Sequence

Dec 13, 2011

We promote a ton of fan-made videos here at Movies.com because while it's fun to report on all the latest Hollywood news, it's more fun to just sit back and geek out over our favorite movies with other like-minded film geeks. Today we're loving this stop-motion, shot-for-shot remake of the iconic opening sequence from Raiders of the Lost Ark, created by YouTuber CovertOperatives over the course of six months (three of which were used for shooting).

The entire thing is pretty remarkable -- right down to all the amazing little details inside the temple where Indiana Jones seeks out his gold idol, created  from art supplies (like foam core and paper mache, according to its creator). What we're most impressed with, though, is a smaller detail -- the classic Harrison Ford-like smirk Jones gives after he replaces the idol with a bag of sand, thinking he actually got away with it. Well done on that one!

Check out the entire sequence below. Anyone down for watching the entire film this way?
