Spike Jonze just debuted his yeti spectacular – the new video for the Beastie Boys' Don't Play That Game That I Can't Win, which featured the crew as action figure heroes. Now, he's channeling the fire-breathing car of Evan Glodell's Bellflower in his latest music video extravaganza for Jay Z and Kanye West's Otis. The Where the Wild Things Are director shoots the hip hop giants transforming their Maybach into a convertible – D.I.Y. style, with torches and a giant saw.
Tricked-out car? Check. Back seat full of ladies? Check. Summer joyriding? Check. Jonze must have consulted the list of clichés for most hip hop videos, but aims to make it bigger by inserting his unique style into the mix. MTV
premiered the video, which shows the rap duo doing doughnuts outside a warehouse. If you look closely, the final title card says the futuristic vehicle will be auctioned off to benefit drought relief efforts in East Africa. It might also show up in spy pics from the set of that little movie Christopher Nolan is directing.
