Watch: Really Great Fan-Made Trailers for 'The Dark Knight Rises', 'Zombinladen', and a Live-Action 'Akira'

Zombinladen stillIf you’re like us, you love a good fan trailer. Sure, Hollywood previews are all flashy and fancy and all that, but a lot of them aren’t super inventive – and lately, they love to spoil the endings of the movies they’re advertising. Fan trailers, on the other hand, are made with nothing but love – what they lack in technical skill and budget, they often make up for with passion. Such is the case with the all three previews we’re bringing you today.

First up is Zombinladen: The Axis of the Evil Dead, which finds the deceased terrorist Osama Bin Laden rising from his watery grave off the coast of France to raise havoc amongst the living.

The four-minute clip was made over the span of four days for a competition – and it’s pretty hilarious. Director Clement Deneux really nails the grindhouse vibe and the script and special effects are essentially pitch perfect. We’re not even slightly embarrassed to say we’d pay good money to watch a full-length version of Zombinladen – but don’t just take our word for it, check it out for yourself below.

While the live-action big-budget version of anime classic Akira hangs in limbo, that hasn’t stopped French filmmaker Fabian Dubois from crafting his own live-action teaser for Katsuhiro Otomo’s film.

Since this is just a teaser, there’s not a lot to comment on, but it’s still worth a look. Personally, we don’t want anyone making a live-action Akira at this point, but maybe more teaser trailers would sell us on the idea. [via io9]

Finally, we bring you a super-cool mash-up trailer marrying Michael Caine’s dialogue from The Prestige with footage from Christopher Nolan’s upcoming The Dark Knight Rises.

YouTube user Dominaz3000 clearly put a lot of time and effort into this clip, which takes Caine’s speech about the three stages of a magic trick and pairs it with footage from all three of Nolan and Christian Bale’s Batman films. The scene selections are pretty much perfect – matching Caine’s dialogue dead on before launching into a straight montage of clips from Nolan’s newest feature.

Get a peek at the trailer below – then be sure to let us know what you think of all three of these homemade clips in the comment section below.
