Watch Our Favorite Comic-Con Movie Panel: Quentin Tarantino's 'Django Unchained'

Jul 18, 2012

When we talk about the best movie moments and panels from San Diego Comic-Con, we're mostly referring to how good the footage was and not really the panel itself. Footage almost always overshadows the actual panel, which usually consists of filmmakers and cast members (some more awkward than others) who can't really say much about the film for fear of spoiling its biggest surprises. So instead they crack jokes, answer moronic questions from the fans (someone asked Zack Snyder who'd win in a fight, his Superman or Nolan's Batman), and before you know it they exit the stage, making room for the next movie panel.

Some panels, however, offer you more than that. They offer interesting discussions about the process of making films, along with fascinating insights into the craft itself and what inspires them. And, yeah, sometimes you also get some fantastic questions from the audience too. There was a whole lot of that going on in the Django Unchained panel, with writer-director Quentin Tarantino leading a conversation about what went into making the film, due out this December. From the rare films that helped shape it to the grueling and emotionally draining production, there's a lot of juice here any movie fan should want to drink up.

Plus you can watch Kerry Washington begin angling for that Oscar nod, and Christoph Waltz cosplaying as the dad from Teen Wolf. (And yes, we're kidding about that last one, except he looks just like him!)
