Watch One Guy Do the Famous 'Napoleon Dynamite' Dance for 100 Days in a Row

May 06, 2014

Jared Hess’ 2004 film Napoleon Dynamite is a heartwarming and slyly absurd twist on the teen-comedy canon, featuring some memorable quotes (“Gosh!”) and lovable characters. The man you’re about to watch also happens to appreciate Napoleon Dynamite — particularly the scene in which Jon Heder’s Napoleon performs an elaborate and nerdy dance routine at school.

It might be 10 years too late to hop on this bandwagon, but YouTube user ProjectOneLife threw caution to the wind and filmed himself doing the dance for 100 days straight. It was a bucket-list item for ProjectOneLife, and he wanted to do something different than the overdone take-a-photo-of-yourself-every-day project.

We’ll take it — although we’re slightly disappointed ProjectOneLife didn’t practice “illegal ninja moves” for 100 days in a row. Will someone please rectify this? [via BuzzFeed]

Here's the original scene from the movie to compare.

And as a bonus, here's Napoleon Dynamite star Jon Heder re-creating the beginning of the dance back in 2012.
