It's been about a month since the first trailer for Hotel Transyvania, the new film from Sony Pictures Animation (The Smurfs, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs), hit online and now we've already got a second trailer to press play on. Thankfully it's the better of the two.
The first one was all sight gags and star Adam Sandler's cheesy Dracula voice, and while this new trailer features even more of that, it also gives us more monsters and more of a sense of what the film, directed by Genndy Tartakovsky (Star Wars: Clone Wars), is actually about, aside from a hotel for the "cute" things that go bump in the night.
Welcome to the Hotel Transylvania, Dracula's lavish five-stake resort, where monsters and their families can live it up, free to be the monsters they are without humans to bother them. On one special weekend, Dracula has invited some of the world's most famous monsters -- Frankenstein and his bride, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, a family of werewolves, and more -- to celebrate his daughter Mavis's 118th birthday. For Drac, catering to all of these legendary monsters is no problem -- but his world could come crashing down when one ordinary guy stumbles on the hotel and takes a shine to Mavis.
Of course, Hotel Transylvania isn't the only kid-friendly monster movie coming out this year. About a month earlier, on August 17th, fans of the playfully macabre will also be treated to ParaNorman. And if you ask us, it looks like the better of the two. But what say you?
