Daniel Kanemoto of Ex Mortis Films created an animated tribute to the Evil Dead trilogy (Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness), inspired by a Mondo poster designed by Olly Moss. Mondo, of course, is the Austin company that creates limited edition, filmic artwork, along with vinyl soundtrack releases, VHS re-issues, and tees. They also have a new gallery space — a necessary venture, particularly for those hot-ticket sales moments when their website explodes. Moss is a regularly featured artist at the company.
Fans of the Bruce Campbell-starring films will be happy to relive the sights, sounds, and characters of Sam Raimi's iconic movies in a unique way. "This is my cinematic love letter to three influential movies that made me want to be a filmmaker," Kanemoto writes. "I created all the artwork in the sequence, but the final image is directly inspired by an incredible Evil Dead poster created by Olly Moss. The moment I saw it, I only wanted to see it move — which is how I feel about all great posters."
