Watch: Indiana Jones Filmumentary 'Raiding the Lost Ark' (Plus the 5 Things You'll See for the First Time)

Feb 06, 2012

We've always been big supporters of what Jamie Benning has done with his outstanding filmumentaries, beginning with three comprehensive behind-the-scenes commentaries for the three original Star Wars movies, and now with the first Indiana Jones movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark. What Jamie does is complile a ridiculous amount of behind-the-scenes footage, interviews and more, and then run it over the film itself giving the viewer great insight into the making of the film, minute by minute.

For his latest filmumentary, Raiding the Lost Ark, Benning also sought out his own interviews, speaking with Wolf Kahler (Colonel Dietrich), Brian Muir (legendary sculptor), Mark Mangini (part of the Oscar winning sound team) and Sean Young, who spoke about her audition for the part of Marion Ravenwood.

We spoke briefly to Benning in advance of the online release of Raiding the Lost Ark, and asked for one thing he learned about the movie that he didn't know before ("I didn't know that the Nazi car was driven from Leicester in England to Tunisia"), as well as five things audiences will learn about Raiders of the Lost Ark for the first time while watching his filmumentary. Says Benning ...

Things viewers will see for the first time.

1. An exclusive interview with Sean Young about her Raiders audition with Tom Selleck.
2. First ever commentary from Colonel Dietrich actor, Wolf Kahler.
3. Part of the Oscar winning sound team, Mark Mangini talks you through the Raven Bar Scene.
4. A storyboard comparison in the Map Room.
5. Custom-made, animated comic book deleted scene recreations.

Check out the full filmumentary below, and for more make sure you hit up Benning's official website.
