Watch: Director Nicolas Winding Refn Really Doesn't Want You to Talk During Movies

Jun 24, 2013

One of the many great things the Alamo Drafthouse prides itself on is its no talking policy. If you've never been to one of their theaters, before each movie they'll play what's called a No Talking PSA to remind audiences that they're not the only people in the theater. Sometimes it's a clip from an older movie where someone is watching a movie and terrible harm comes to them because they can't keep their mouth shut, but lately they've been producing new PSAs with the involvement of the people whose movie you're about to go see.

Their latest is from Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn, whose newest film, the beautiful and brutal Only God Forgives, will be hitting theaters on July 19, 2013. And it is our pleasure to bring you the online premiere of it today. Check it out.

If you missed it last week, check out our interview with Refn about Only God Forgives. Do keep an eye out for the movie when it comes to a theater near you, too. It is a dark, complicated beast; the kind of movie where it's fun to look at the expression on people's face after they've seen it for the first time.

Oh, and if you liked that No Talking PSA, here's Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke's for Before Midnight:
