This Star Wars promo/contest video goes from cute to creepy in no time at all, when one little boy named Daniel is invited to the set of The Empire Strikes Back to hang out with Luke Skywalker for a day. As part of British talk show Jim'll Fix It's contest (host Jimmy Savile is kind of frightening), Daniel wins a trip to the set of Star Wars where he spends some quality time with actor Mark Hamill amongst the swamps of Dagobah.
The two have a chat about school, Daniel's favorite part in the first film, and watch a preview of Empire while Hamill plugs it like gangbusters. Seeing Daniel's wide eyes and unstoppable smile instantly teleports you back to the theater seat (or sofa at home) where you watched the film for the first time as a child. There's an awkwardness, however, about the video – like the unfortunate positioning of Hamill's lightsaber across his thigh while he's chatting the boy up, or the pervy Chewbacca conversation at the end of the clip. You almost feel bad for Daniel, but then you remember that the lucky little bastard got to hang out with some of cinema's most memorable movie characters and the disturbing molester antics don't seem so bad.
