Arguably the biggest film-related panel at Comic-Con this year, Sony's mega-long presentation on Friday afternoon included the one film everyone wanted to catch a glimpse of: Next summer's The Amazing Spider-Man, the studio's somewhat controversial reboot of the Spider-Man franchise. We say "somewhat controversial" because it is. Many fans feel Spidey doesn't need a reboot so soon after the Tobey Maguire/Sam Raimi trilogy. Thus, the new class -- including new Spider-Man Andrew Garfield -- needed to show up and bring enough to convince fan's they've made the right decision. And based on reports coming out of the panel, it appears that's exactly what they did.
One of the panel's highlights included an opening heartfelt speech from Andrew Garfield, in which he surprised fans by walking up to the Q&A mic in full makeshift Spider-Man costume. Visibly wired on adrenaline, Garfield then spit out a speech about the character and how much it means to be playing him that immediately sold fans on the casting choice.
