If you haven’t watched David Fincher’s Fight Club yet, prepare to do the following: run (don’t walk), hunt it down, watch and return to this post for funsies. We don’t want to ruin the experience for you, and there are a few spoilers ahead.
The 1999 film based on Chuck Palahniuk’s novel of the same name stars Edward Norton and Brad Pitt as two troubled fellas who form an underground fight club — one an insomniac office drone hoping to bring meaning back into his miserable existence, the other, Tyler Durden (Pitt), a total troublemaker. Of course, we eventually learn that both men are the same person — something hilariously highlighted in the below clip.
After the men share a drink and a meaningful talk about the soul suckingness of consumerism, they get into a fistfight. It’s the beginning of their fight club, really. Video editor Richard Trammell created Fight Club Minus Tyler Durden, which erases Pitt’s character from the scene, leaving Norton’s unnamed narrator alone with his own thoughts — as any onlooker would have seen him. We wouldn’t mind watching Trammell’s version of the airplane conversation about “the ass or the crotch,” too. What about you?
