Warner Bros. to Show 6 Minutes of 'The Dark Knight Rises' Before 'Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol' IMAX Screenings?

Oct 19, 2011

In the spirit of bringing even more holiday cheer to the holiday season, word has it that Warner Bros. may be attaching an 6-minute prologue for The Dark Knight Rises to IMAX screenings of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol this December. Even though one is a Warner Bros. movie and one is a Paramount movie, it still makes total sense for both films, and it's an even greater plug for IMAX, who will already be enjoying a five-day exclusive window on Ghost Protocol when it hits IMAX theaters a full five days before conventional theaters.

Warners made a similar move with The Dark Knight when they attached that film's opening bank heist sequence to IMAX screenings of Will Smith's I Am Legend, and so it makes complete sense for them to do it again with The Dark Knight Rises, especially since there's a lot more IMAX footage to promote this time around. We're not sure if this eight minutes will be the opening scene of the movie, or if it will be something separate that bridges the gap between The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, but knowing the IMAX nut Christopher Nolan is, we bet whatever he intends to show will be a mouthwateringly delicious piece of Batman awesomeness.

Look for more as we inch closer to the December 16th IMAX release of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.
