Heath Ledger fans will get one last look at their favorite actor when his last film, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, is released in theaters this Christmas. On January 5 Disney will party like it’s 1999 and give viewers a high-def look at Ledger in 10 Things I Hate About You, the romantic comedy that was the breakout moment for both him and co-star Julia Stiles. Loosely based on Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew and set in an American high school, 10 Thingsremains a favorite for teens with a little more depth than their classmates who are busy swooning over Miley Cyrus and Zac Efron.
10 Things I Hate About You has been available on DVD for years, but now details are emerging about Disney’s Blu-ray version. Buyers can expect a full 1080p picture and DTS-HD Master Audio for the '90s Teen Choice sensation, as well as audio commentaries from cast and crew, “I Want You to Want Me: The 10 Things I Hate About You Screen Tests” and “10 Things I Love About 10 Things I Hate About You 10 Years Later.” Sadly, Ledger is probably not involved in the last featurette unless it happened to be filmed before his death last year, but viewers can still check out his screen test for the role that put him on a path to an Oscar nomination for Brokeback Mountain and a posthumous Oscar win for The Dark Knight.
