With all the promo they've been shoveling out to the masses, we'd be surprised if there's someone who doesn't know there's a new Muppet movie hitting theaters next week. As we inch just that much closer to release, there are a few fun little nuggets arriving online for those Muppet-hards who can't get enough of the iconic gang of quirky characters. First up is this video of Jason Segel and Kermit the Frog, which apparently was created in order to convince Amy Adams to do the movie. It features Segel and Kermit doing some shtick before turning to the camera to talk directly to Adams. C'mon, how does an actress turn down a role when Kermit the Frog is the one asking her to do it? Fortunately, Adams did not crush our Muppet dreams, and she accepted the part.
One of the fun aspects of this film coming out now is that all the adult movie nerds who grew up with the Muppets get to revisit a more innocent time in their lives, and we've seen a lot of our fellow colleagues getting drunk on nostalgia while watching -- and later interviewing -- the Muppets themselves. One pal of ours, Drew over at HitFix, took things a step further and convinced Disney to let his son interview Kermit and Miss Piggy at the film's junket. What follows is a cute, heartwarming chat between two icons and the little boy who idolizes them. Can't get any cuter than this one right here.
