Update: Where You Can See 'The Dark Knight Rises' Prologue Early

Dec 09, 2011

Update: Turns out Operation Early Bird is just an elaborate way to announce screenings of something - likely the prologue footage - in cities around the country on Tuesday, December 13th. As you can imagine, the site is getting hammered so it may take multiple tries, but consult the Operation Early Bird map to see if it's playing near you, and if it is, registration for the event will be handled through GoFoBo.com. Check out JoBlo.com, who are doing an excellent job tracking all of this, for more info.

So remember that CIA memo we posted yesterday, introducing a viral plot about the disappearance of one Dr. Leonid Pavel, a "mad scientist" played by Alon Abutbul in The Dark Knight Rises? Well since that post, two other CIA memos have arrived online -- the latter of which teases an event called Operation Early Bird, which is set to launch tomorrow, Friday, at 10am PST.

There's no word on what Operation Early Bird is, though we do know that beginning on December 16th  folks will be able to see a 7-minute prologue for The Dark Knight Rises in front of Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol IMAX screenings. Could Operation Early Bird offer fans a chance to see it before the 16th? Or perhaps a new trailer for The Dark Knight Rises will arrive online at that time instead?

Whatever it is, fans of the film might want to make sure they're online tomorrow at 10am PST. Watch the site OperationEarlyBird.com and The Fire Rises Twitter account for more info, and we'll of course update when we know more.
