For the very last time, the cast and author Stephanie Meyer came together for their annual San Diego Comic-Con press conference about an upcoming Twilight release. With The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 hitting theaters in November 2012, this was their big swan song with the press behind-the-scenes outside of Hall H. Meyer and the core cast of Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Mackenzie Foy talked about their entire Twilight journey and the last installment. We picked out some of the best comments the cast shared…

Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan) on how the Twilight films have changed her professionally and personally.

“You start a project to finish it. At this point, it’s a really charged experience and it almost feels too much but that’s the only way that I would feel good and right and true. I feel very challenged. I would like to keep that feeling. How did it change me? It affirmed the idea of why I do what I do. I know you don’t always have to do an indie movie to feel like you are working with people and connecting. You can do it on a bigger scale. But as a person, I could not begin to answer right now because it’s so loaded.”

Taylor Lautner (Jacob Black) on Kristen’s transformation in the last film into vampire Bella Swan.

“Kristen has done such a good job at playing the old Bella. She’s always been perfect, awkward, clumsy and relatable. Now she’s all of a sudden transformed herself into this sleek, sexy, vampire and a completely different person. It was very impressive for me to see and I think the fans will be blown away as well.”

Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen) on his thoughts about a possible re-boot of the franchise:

“I would love to see that. No, actually I pity the person who takes over my part. I would make a campaign against them.”

Stephanie Meyer on seeing a re-boot of the film series someday.

“I think it would be really interesting in 20 years, but I do pity the person who tries to step into these roles. It’s not going to go well for them, I imagine, because this is what is loved. It wouldn’t be the same. It would be interesting…”

Robert on where he sees Edward and Bella’s life 20 years from now.

“Edward and Bella would be divorced and it would be a Mr. and Mrs. Smith thing.”

Kristen on how it’s very bittersweet to leave the franchise behind.

“Yeah it is funny. If you told me tomorrow that I had to re-shoot a scene, I would be so happy that I would start crying because I do really enjoy living in this world. We got to do it for four years. I put everything I have into it and when you do that like even though it feels comfortable to walk away I look back at it so fondly that I hold it. It will be something I will always have. I’m so grateful.”

Stephanie Meyer asks little Mackenzie Foy how much was in her swear jar (which penalized her co-stars when they had potty mouths in front of her). (Long pause)

“Do I have to say?”
