'Knights of Badassdom' Director's New Short Is the Coolest Marvel Film Marvel Had Nothing to Do With

What do you get when you cross Wrong Turn 2 director Joe Lynch, French serial killer mockumentary Man Bites Dog, and Marvel Comics? You get one of the coolest short fan films we’ve seen in a very long time. It’s hard to talk about Truth in Journalism – Lynch’s 17-minute short film – without spoiling what makes it so awesome. With that in mind, you’ll just have to take my word for it and watch -- if you’re a Marvel fanboy, you’re going to want to see this.

A French film crew (very similar to the one in Remy Belvaux’s feature) follows a reporter with some very questionable ethics around as part of a documentary. As they get more involved with their subject, they start to wonder if maybe they should call the whole thing off. Turns out, that’s exactly what they should have done as they soon find themselves face to face with one of Marvel’s most loved characters.

Lynch’s merging of Man Bites Dog and comic book geekery is entertaining and inspired, and be sure to stick around til the end, when another character from the Marvel universe makes a guest appearance.
