With a title like Freaky Deaky, it should come as no surprise that it stars Crispin Glover, Michael Jai White, Andy Dick and Christian Slater. The film is packed with wildly original and somewhat peculiar characters, and the cast most certainly doesn’t let the opportunity to have some fun with those personalities go to waste.
Billy Burke stars as Chris Mankowski, a cop who loses his job for trying to go up against the über wealthy Woody Ricks (Glover). Woody may be able to quash Mankowski’s effort to nail him for attempting to rape Greta Wyatt (Sabina Gadecki), but it turns out, Woody has a much bigger problem on his hands; Skip and Robin (Christian Slater and Breanne Racano) blame Woody for their lengthy jail sentences and are out for revenge. They want to blow Woody away, literally, and steal his millions. Considering Woody is completely inebriated the majority of the time, his only line of defense is his assistant/friend/cheap lawyer, Donnell (White).
With Freaky Deaky making its big debut at the Tribeca Film Festival as part of the Tribeca Talks program, Glover and White took the time to chat about making the film, from Glover’s last minute casting, to the preparation process he developed with White, working with the rest of the ensemble cast and more.
