More and more information about Ridley Scott's Alien "prequel" Prometheus has been leaking out from cast and crew, but now the studio has released an official plot synopsis [via ComingSoon.net]:

"Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define, creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe. The film takes a team of scientists and explorers on a thrilling journey that will test their physical and mental limits and strand them on a distant world, where they will discover the answers to our most profound questions and to life's ultimate mystery."

As if there weren't already enough Snow White films in the pipeline, producer Joe Roth has revealed that Universal's offering, Snow White and the Huntsman starring Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsowrth, is actually planned to be the first in a trilogy.

Adam Sandler will voice the role of Dracula in Sony's upcoming animated comedy Hotel Transylvania, joining a voice cast that also includes Steve Buscemi, Fran Drescher, Cee Lo Green, Kevin James, Andy Samberg, Molly Shannon, and David Spade. Synopsis below ...

"Welcome to the Hotel Transylvania, Dracula’s (Sandler) lavish five-stake resort, where monsters and their families can live it up, free from meddling from the human world.  But here’s a little known fact about Dracula: he is not only the Prince of Darkness; he is also a dad.  Over-protective of his teenage daughter, Mavis, Dracula fabricates tales of elaborate dangers to dissuade her adventurous spirit.  As a haven for Mavis, he opens the Hotel Transylvania, where his daughter and some of the world's most famous monsters – Frankenstein and his bride, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, a family of werewolves, and more – can kick back in safety and peace.  For Drac, catering to all of these legendary monsters is no problem – but his world could come crashing down when one ordinary guy stumbles on the hotel and takes a shine to Mavis."

Though it seems to have faded as a topic of conversation rather quickly, movement on a Thor sequel reminds us that Kenneth Branagh's film did actually make $440 million at the global box office.  Deadline is reporting that Branagh won't be returning for the sequel and that Marvel hasn't hired his replacement, but they have asked one of the film's first writers, Don Payne, to write the sequel.
