-- Did you miss catching all the “giant f***ing robot” action of Transformers: Dark of the Moon in IMAX this summer? You’re in luck – the film is making a two week return to IMAX theaters starting this Friday, August 26th. Dark of the Moon has already made over a billion dollars worldwide, but a few more dollars can’t hurt, right?
-- Director Justin Lin has signed a two-year first look deal with Universal. The Fast Five filmmaker’s newly created Barnstorm Pictures will give the studio first crack at everything he’s working on (which is quite a few things according to the THR article) and further cements the relationship between Lin and the studio who gave him his big break with The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. Don’t panic – this new deal doesn’t change the fact that Lin will be bringing you another Fast and Furious entry in 2013…
-- Twitch is reporting that Asian action icon Donnie Yen has been offered a role in The Expendables 2. Yen has yet to officially accept, saying he has several film offers on the table and that he’d like to see a script first. We had a two word response when hearing Yen had been offered a part – the family friendly version was “hell yeah.”
-- True Blood star Alexander Skarsgard is set to take a break from HBO’s vampire series and become an eco-terrorist in The East. Skarsgard will join Brit Marling in the film, which finds Marling playing an agent who infiltrates Skarsgard’s group.
