Tomb Raider Reboot Moves Closer to Reality

Tomb Raider Reboot Moves Closer to Reality

May 05, 2011

Tomb Raider may not be as popular in 2011 as it was a decade ago, but to its credit, hottie archaeologist Lara Croft just refuses to die. She's had a total of ten games already based on her and two movies, which is a mighty impressive feat of longevity for a property that is essentially a video game knockoff of Indiana Jones. An eleventh game is currently in the works, as is a third film.

The latter doesn't have a title of any kind yet, but it has just found a pair of screenwriters in the form of Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, the busy duo who worked on Children of Men, Iron Man and Cowboys & Aliens. This new film doesn't have a director or star, either (Angelina Jolie will almost certainly not be returning, though she was perfect for the role), but the hiring of two of Hollywood's most promising blockbuster screenwriters shows that the film's new production company, GK Films, isn't messing around.

So, the big question on everyone's mind is obviously what lucky young Hollywood lass should be hired to fill Lara Croft's iconic booty shorts? Thoughts?
