We Already Know One Huge, Crazy Action Sequence in 'Mission: Impossible 6'

Jul 30, 2015

In Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, we see Tom Cruise hang on to the side of a plane as it takes off. We see him drive a motorcycle at insane speeds and hold his breath underwater for six minutes -- and that's only the beginning! Hands down, this is one of the year's best action movies, and those who've seen it are already clamoring for more.

Good news is Tom Cruise is already talking about the next one, as is Rogue Nation director Chris McQuarrie. There's no word on whether McQuarrie will return for the next installment (the franchise is notorious for using a different director for each one), though he did tease a wild action sequence that was cut from Rogue Nation, and says it will most likely show up in the next one.

And about that sequence... tell us if it reminds you of a certain memorable moment from one of the Indiana Jones movies.

McQuarrie told Moviefone:

"There was one we really loved [that involved] a glass bridge -- a footbridge going from one building to another."And that glass device Ethan uses to break into the factory or the power plant [in "Rogue Nation"], he uses the same glass breaking device to destroy this entire glass bridge."

"It was going to be this spectacular image," McQuarrie said, "and unfortunately it was just so unbelievably expensive and we had to jump through so many hoops to put them on that glass bridge, we ultimately put it in the file with all the other things that will show up in another [film]."

When MF pressed him about whether we'll see the scene in part six, McQuarrie replied, "You will."

Mark it down! In Mission: Impossible 6, we'll most likely see Tom Cruise blow up a glass bridge while standing in the middle of it. We wonder if Indiana Jones can give him any advice on that one?
