There's a special kind of magic that happens when a little boy or girl falls in love with a movie or a character for the first time. Parents never really know when it's going to happen to their children. For some, it's real early, and then for others it takes a few years for their attention spans to grow and their emotions to develop. For my daughter, who turns five in June, it's been a terrific experience watching her fall in love with her first movie, Disney's Frozen. She and I have formed an extremely tight bond over our mutual love of that movie, and it's difficult to put into words how fulfilling that is for me and hopefully for her.
Sometimes, though, kids will fall for a movie or a character much earlier. In this great video, a father watches a scene from Zack Snyder's Man of Steel with his 16-month-old son on his lap. Watch how the little boy reacts to Superman flying through the air for the first time. His facial expressions tell it all -- from the anticipation to the execution to those moments where he pretends to fly right alongside the Man of Steel -- everything about this video just rocks.
It's hard to pinpoint the exact moment a kid first falls in love with a character, but this video captures the essence of what that looks like. Check it out below. And if you're a parent, let us know the first movie or character your child fell in love with.
