Update: The Japanese trailer for The Wolverine has surfaced online and it offers a slightly extended look at a few things. There are no drastic differences between this and any of the trailers below, but those who are looking forward to Logan in Japan should get to see a bit more of how the location and culture come into play.
After two days worth of teasing in the form of a six-second clip and a 20-second clip, the full trailer for The Wolverine has finally arrived online... and it's real angry. In his second solo film, Hugh Jackman's Wolverine travels to Japan to meet a man whose life he once saved -- a man who promises he can rid Wolvy of this condition that's plagued him for years. Of course a cure for the claws won't come so easily, especially when there are gangs of ninjas to be fought, and a host of other criminals eager to take our X-Men hero down.
James Mangold directs the latest solo spin-off, and from the looks of it the movie definitely feels like a balance between Mangold's previous two movies, Knight and Day and 3:10 to Yuma. There's the over-the-top action sequences (what's up with that high-speed train fight?) and a boy-girl action duo like Knight and Day, but also a grimy, grizzled and war-torn vibe not unlike the one found in 3:10 to Yuma. We dig it. Kind of.
Do you?
