'The Lego Movie' Is Getting Better Reviews Than All of This Year's Best Picture Nominees

Feb 07, 2014

Just how good is The Lego Movie? According to this image [via @Screencrush], as of right now it's sitting at 99% Fresh over at Rotten Tomatoes, which puts it ahead of every single movie nominated for Best Picture at this year's Oscars, as well as Disney's Frozen (89% Fresh), which some claim is the best kids movie in ages.

Oh, you read that right. 99% Fresh... for a movie about Legos. But this isn't just any movie about Legos -- it's a fun, exciting, emotional journey that doesn't just follow a bunch of Lego characters on an adventure; it also taps into our own relationship with Legos, and why they're such an important part of our lives, not only as children, but as adults, too.

Plus it's apparently better than all the top-notch Oscar contenders. So there's that.

There's also this great Mondo poster for the movie by Tom Whalen, revealed earlier today. You can pick one up by following @MondoNews on Twitter for the time when they'll be available to purchase.

For more on The Lego Movie, here's what the Schmoes thought of it in this week's video review. You can also purchase your tickets over at Fandango.

Will you be seeing The Lego Movie this weekend?
