On the heels of what's expected to be a huge presentation at Comic-Con next week, Entertainment Weekly has shoveled out a group of new photos from Peter Jackson's first Hobbit movie, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. The image that stands out the most, of course, is the one of Gollum, which gives us our best look so far at the famous character, as brought to life by Andy Serkis (give this man an Oscar already!).
You can clearly see the advancements in technology since the Lord of the Rings movies when you look at Gollum as he's the best representation of how far we've come since then. There's more detail here, and he looks even creepier. Other images feature Cate Blanchett's Galadriel and Hugo Weaving's Elrond, as well as Martin Freeman's Bilbo (our hero), Ian McKellen's Gandalf and more.
Check out the images below. We'll have more on The Hobbit next week from Comic-Con, and you see the film for yourselves (in 3D and/or 48fps if you like) on December 14th.
