It's quite fitting that the eighth film from Quentin Tarantino have the number eight in its title, and after a long back-and-forth that included leaked scripts and staged readings, this newly released (and official) poster finally confirms for certain that The Hateful Eight is heading to the big screen in 2015.
The poster also confirms a couple of other things, too, like how the film will be presented in 70 mm Super Cinemascope along with a special road-show engagement, which means it will probably tour the country before settling down in theaters nationwide. It'll be fun to see where those special engagements take place and who from the movie shows up.
And about that movie! Well, a bunch of Tarantino regulars have already been confirmed, many of whom also took part in a staged reading of an earlier version of the script a few months back. We've got Kurt Russell, Bruce Dern, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Madsen, Tim Roth, James Remar, Amber Tamblyn, Walton Goggins and Zoe Bell.
Here's what it's about:
The Hateful Eight follows the steadily ratcheting tension that develops after a blizzard diverts a stagecoach from its route, trapping a pitiless and mistrustful group, which includes a competing pair of bounty hunters, a renegade Confederate soldier and a female prisoner in a saloon in the middle of nowhere.
No official release date has been confirmed, but knowing QT and knowing it'll be touring the country, expect this one to land in theaters in late December of 2015, most likely Christmas Day.
