Puppet private eye and "disgraced ex-cop" Phil Phillips is hunting a serial killer who murdered his brother and is now trying to take out members of a famous 1980s' television show, The Happytime Gang. Soon, things take a turn for the personal as Phil finds out that his ex-girlfriend Jenny is on the hit list. The hardboiled hunter teams with ex-partner Detective Edwards to solve the crime, but after a slew of mysterious clues confuse the case, he realizes it's a setup making him enemy number one.
The film is set "in a world where puppets co-exist with humans as second class citizens." So far, we know that Katherine Heigl stars — possibly as Detective Edwards. The Scenesters writer Todd Berger penned the screenplay (taking over from Dee Austin Robertson) and Brian Henson is directing.
IM Global — the sales agent for the film — shared some concept art, which we've posted for your perusal below. If you want your sexy puppet funtime to stay spoiler free, then avert your eyes for a moment.
Vinny's Puppet Pleasureland is clearly a sex shop (pictured below), and so far we know about one Feebles-inspired moment thanks to a tip from Vulture. Not too long ago, they shared this nugget of info: " One scene has a character opening the wrong door at the "Puppet Pleasureland," and finding a cow puppet on a massage table having all of its teats milked by an octopus puppet. Reads the stage direction: "The cow MOOS in ecstasy. MILK is just SQUIRTING EVERYWHERE."
What other endorsement do you need, really? We'll let you know more as soon as we find out, but we like the darkly comedic element so far. What about you?
