The deceptively titled Final Destination
movies, of which there have been four, are all about Death coming back to kill people in mysterious ways who have eluded a disaster during which they were supposed to have died. The Final Destination
, released in theaters in 3D in 2009, was supposed to live up to its title and finish off the series, but it ended up making more money than any of the previous films.
Although The Final Destination is already available on DVD and Blu-ray with anaglyph 3D glasses included, Warner Bros. is releasing the movie on Blu-ray 3D on August 16 just in time for Final Destination 5, which opens in theaters on August 12. The new Blu-ray 3D will contain both the 2D and true 3D versions of the film and includes two alternate endings, additional scenes, "Previsualization and Storyboards" and "Body Count: The Deaths in The Final Destination—Deconstructing Key Death Scenes." If you don't fear the Reaper, the disc also contains $8 in movie cash to see Final Destination 5 on the big screen.
