New 'The Fault in Our Stars' Trailer: Just Grab a Box of Tissues Now, Because You'll Need All of Them

New 'The Fault in Our Stars' Trailer: Just Grab a Box of Tissues Now, Because You'll Need All of Them

Apr 28, 2014

Update: A new trailer for the film has just hit online and it only makes it look even more funny, charming and ultimately heart wrenching. Check it out.

Previously: Are you ready for the Shailene Woodley whirlwind that's heading our way in 2014? Not only is she starring in her own action-packed Hunger Games-like franchise with Divergent, but she's also the lead in an adaptation of the popular novel The Fault in Our Stars. The latter just dropped its first trailer today, and it just looks great. Really great.

In case you can't tell from the trailer, The Fault in Our Stars follows two kids who fall in love while being treated at a cancer clinic. Shailene Woodley stars alongside newcomer Ansel Elgort, and the film tracks the ups and downs that go along with dating someone who's sick. Cue hospital jokes, awkward teen romance and ridiculously emotional scenes about connecting with another person even when you know that connection may be short lived.

Movies like this one are difficult to execute because you're constantly straddling the line between poignancy and schmaltz, but this one really seems to get it. And man is this film going to wreck the teenagers who venture out to see it, especially the ones who use Peter Gabriel music as the soundtrack of their lives. Yeah, this trailer isn't too fond of Peter Gabriel. Then again, do teenagers these days even know who Peter Gabriel is?

Let us know what you think. The Fault in Our Stars hits theaters on June 6.
