In director Kevin MacDonald's The Eagle
, Channing Tatum
and his marble-statue physique portray a young Roman soldier in Roman-ruled Britain who endeavors to honor his father's memory by retrieving his lost legion's golden emblem. Although not connected to Neil Marshall's Centurion
, which is also about the disappearance of the Ninth Legion in Britain, The Eagle
takes place after the events in that movie, making it a sequel in spirit. This historical epic co-starring Jamie Bell and Donald Sutherland lands on DVD and Blu-ray on June 21. Both versions contain commentary by MacDonald, deleted scenes and an alternate ending as well as a choice between the PG-13 theatrical cut and an unrated cut of the film.
