With a little over a month to go before The Amazing Spider-Man 2 web-slings its way into theaters, the final trailer for the Spidey sequel has arrived online, and it is pretty glorious. As have other recent trailers, this one also teases a much larger story that's being introduced in part two -- one that involves Peter Parker's (Andrew Garfield) parents, freaky OsCorp experiments, and eventually a whole bevy of villains for our hero to contend with. We already know plans are afoot for at least three more Spider-Man movies, so while this film seems like it's packing a lot in, we have a feeling it's only just the beginning. There's lots more Spider-Man to come.
Marc Webb recently elaborated on the scope of the sequel in a conversation with The Daily Beast: “He knows he has to be Spider-Man and he’s contemplating the sacrifices Peter Parker has to make. His relationship with Gwen is the central engine of the film, but just from a dramaturgical standpoint, you’ve got to come up with villains and obstacles bigger than any he’s had to face, and he’s learning things about OsCorp that are more dangerous than anything he could’ve imagined. It’s just about throwing crazy s**t in front of your hero and seeing how that changes him, and how he evolves."
