'The Avengers' Concept Art: Here's What Thanos Looks Like Up Close

Sep 27, 2012

If you're one of the many who immediately snatched up The Avengers on Blu-ray, then you may have noticed that the Avengers Initiative: Marvel Second Screen Experience app holds a whole ton of nerdy behind-the-scenes videos and concept art, revealing how certain scenes were pieced together. One of the most interesting pieces of concept art (especially since the character was on-screen for only a minute, and is set to return for at least two more movies) is this look at Thanos, who appeared in a mid-credits scene teasing his future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It was a quick, darkened shot -- and Thanos was wearing full armor -- but these images reveal the villain both with and without the suit, giving us a much closer look at what will be one of Marvel's main villains during their Phase Two initiative. Check out the images below and let us know what you think. According to rumors, our next good look at Thanos may not come until Guardians of the Galaxy in August 2014, and then again when he plays the villain in The Avengers 2. [via CBM]
