'Ted' (Red-Band) Trailer: Seth MacFarlane Brings Us the R-Rated Teddy Bear Comedy We've Always Wanted (and Needed)

Apr 01, 2012

Until now all we knew from Seth McFarlane's Ted was that it starred Mark Wahlberg as a guy whose teddy bear comes to life and turns out to be the most digusting, foul-mouthed little thing. Now here comes the first trailer (following a poster featuring Wahlberg and the bear peeing at urinals), and this thing looks absolutely vicious.

A cutesy romantic comedy set-up featuring Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis is interrupted by Ted, a stuffed bear voiced by Seth McFarlane (Family Guy), who finally lets his R-rated flag wave proud minus the restrictions of primetime network television. The bear looks like a great big bag full of foul-mouthed furry fun, but don't ignore Wahlberg, who sorta steals the whole trailer with his brilliant rattling-off-of-the-girls-names exchange, which puts Matt Damon's rattling-off-of-the-brothers-names from Good Will Hunting to shame.

Check it out below and let us know what you think. Does Ted take R-rated summer comedy to another level, and are we crazy for being this excited about it?

Ted hits theaters on July 13th.
