Tarantino's Next Movie A Western?

Feb 28, 2011

  • Yes, please! Two years ago when Quentin Tarantino was making the rounds promoting Inglourious Basterds, he mentioned a desire to take on a western, but had no concept for a film at that point. Today, Playlist reports that Italian actor Franco Nero revealed that his next project is a spaghetti Western and it involves Tarantino, along with actors Keith Carradine and Treat Williams. Tarantino has long expressed his admiration for legendary spaghetti western director Sergio Leone, who directed Clint Eastwood in The Man with No Name trilogy in the 1960s. With Kill Bill Vol. 3 not due out until at least 2014, we're pretty sure more news will continue to leak out regarding the iconic writer/director's involvement. Will it be a cameo appearance (like his role in Takashi Miike's Sukiyaki Western Django) or will he be directing? Thoughts on a Tarantino Western? --Derrick Deane
