The 2008 film Taken helped transform Liam Neeson's entire career by not only becoming an unexpected hit, but by also showing us how much fun it is to watch Liam Neeson as an action hero. Not surprisingly Neeson decided to return for a sequel, simply titled Taken 2, which hits theaters on October 5th and once again stars Neeson as CIA agent Bryan Mills. But instead of having to rescue his daughter (Maggie Grace) from a terrible group of bad men, this time she's the one who has to rescue him when folks connected to the villains in the first film try to exact their revenge against Mills.
Neeson, who confirms to EW that the sequel will pick up one year after the events of the first film, says it's "a very clever sequel with the usual thrills and spills, but the ante is upped quite a bit in this one." Wouldn't be an appropriate action sequel if the ante isn't upped considerably, and so we expect good things when Taken 2 hits theaters in October.
