Superhero Buzz: New 'Batman v Superman' Clip, Alternate 'Deadpool' Costume Desgns and More

Feb 29, 2016

One superhero movie continues to dominate the box office and arguably the biggest superhero movie of all time is about to hit theaters in a month. Find the latest from both of those plus an update on the next Wolverine solo feature below.

In addition to its main character, Deadpool did a great job breaking out the character of Negasonic Teenage Warhead, who is from the comics but wasn't well-known to general audiences. She actually looks a lot different in the movie, with young actress Brianna Hildebrand sporting a shaved head and rather simple goth-girl look then a very team-conforming X-Men uniform for the final battle.

The character could have been done more faithful to the page or even more different, as seen in the above alternate designs by concept artist James Shaw, via Geek Tyrant. And then below are other designs we could have seen for the uniform.

Wolverine III

X-Men Origins: Wolverine may be disliked among the fans, but now that Deadpool has been redeemed in the movie franchise and even had Ryan Reynolds getting to reprise the role, it's time for other characters to have their shot. There's already a Gambit solo movie in the works (but with Channing Tatum instead of Taylor Kitsch in the role), and now Sabretooth could be returning, as well. With Origins' Liev Schreiber back in the part, even.

The Spotlight and Ray Donovan actor confirmed on the Oscars red carpet this week that it's indeed a possibility. He's actually discussed the idea with Hugh Jackman, who plays Wolverine, for the X-Man's next solo outing. "We talked about it," he told MTV News [via]. "I don’t know. He’s mentioned it to me. The Old Man Logan story, that’s appealing. That’s something that I can do. Old, being the operative word."

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

In the latest clip from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which debuted on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, we get to actually see some of that titular Batman vs. Superman action. Mostly, it's the Man of Steel smashing the armor-encased Caped Crusader through buildings before Batman eludes Superman for a moment using some sort of gas-grenade diversion. Can Supes not see through that gas? Is it lead gas? What happens after Superman catches Batman's bullet? Is that when they just hug it out already?

We'll have to wait and see when the movie comes out, and fortunately that's now less than a month away -- March 25.
