Spike Sparks Controversy: Spike Lee’s new film, Red Hook Summer, has sparked no little discussion this week, as did his charged post-screening Q&A. Yesterday, James McBride, who co-wrote the script with Lee, published an open letter that has generated additional discussion and commentary, especially since it discusses the issue of Hollywood's treatment of African-Americans, and how Lee has been treated compared to George Lucas (and Red Tails); the entire is given a good overview at Shadow and Act.
