Can Yeah! Become the Ultimate Streaming Service for Movie Geeks?

It’s crazy to think that kids born in 2013 will never know of a time when they couldn’t just click a button and stream their favorite movie directly to their television, iPad or laptop, but it’s true. Streaming media is threatening to eliminate the physical copies old-timers like me grew up with. Netflix has over four times as many streaming subscribers (33 million) to those who get physical discs (just over eight million). Clearly, streaming is the future. So, what better time for a new company to join the fray?

Enter Yeah!, a new streaming service with a twist that’s sure to appeal to movie geeks.

The fledgling service will not only offer a selection of your favorite classic movies (at a price of $4.99 for a 48-hour rental), but it will offer them with a plethora of cool extras, including interviews, trivia tidbits, behind-the-scenes footage, and more. You’ll be able to find out why Lawrence Tierney and Quentin Tarantino nearly came to blows on the set of Reservoir Dogs and all about the true life story that inspired A Nightmare on Elm Street. Sounds awesome to us.

You might be wondering how you’ll take in this constant stream of information while watching your movie – but Yeah! has you covered. Trivia tidbits are selectable minute-by-minute at the bottom of the screen. Selecting a video clip will pause your movie while your bonus material plays.

The service officially debuted last week and will be adding even more movies over the summer (including fan favorites like The Shining, 300, Clerks and more). It’s unlikely Yeah! will ever be your new-release destination, but fans looking to add another layer of interactivity when it comes to viewing the classics will certainly want to check this site out.

Don’t just take our word for it, though – let Kevin Smith give you a quick overview of the service below.
