One Movie Theater Is Showing the 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Trailer 17 Times

Nov 26, 2014

Movie fans no doubt already know by now that on Friday, November 28, the first trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be premiering in 30 theaters across the U.S. To see it on the big screen, you need to go to one of these theaters and simply see any movie showing between then and Sunday. But there's one theater on that list that's taking things to the next level.

That theater is, of course, the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, Texas.

Never one to just do the normal thing, the folks at the Drafthouse are putting on an event where they will play the trailer 17 times over the course of an hour. And not just that, but they're putting together a panel of five Star Wars nerds (and Drafthouse CEO Tim League) to discuss what's in the trailer in between each rewatch of it.

Obviously it's pretty overkill, but if you're going to go to a movie theater just to see a trailer, you might as well go crazy with it.

If you want to attend this one-of-a-kind event, you need to be a member of the Alamo Victory program in order to get an invite (and living in Austin would help). Or, if you're a particularly huge Star Wars aficionado, the Drafthouse is running a campaign to have one lucky fan join its panel of experts and win 10 tickets to experience a VIP screening of Star Wars: The Force Awakens when it opens in 2015.

If you can't go to this event, just check come back to Movies.com on Friday, as we'll be posting the trailer the second it inevitably hits online. And we promise we'll let you watch it even more than 17 times.
