Behind the Scenes Footage: 'Star Trek 2' Fight and a First Look at Silver, the Lone Ranger's Horse

Feb 28, 2012

We've already seen dramatic "fight scene" images from the set of J.J. Abrams' Star Trek sequel, and for a film that only recently began production we've seen way more than we ever thought we'd see from one of the most secretive and elusive directors working today. Now MSN has premiered video of said fight scene between Zachary Quinto's Spock and Benedict Cumberbatch's unknown villain character, and it's a pretty vicious brawl. We don't know where this happens in the film, or what the set up is, but it's still safe to say we like what we see. The untitled Star Trek sequel hits theaters on May 17, 2013.

Meanwhile, production is now officially underway on The Lone Ranger after a series of budget cuts and delays. Gore Verbinski reunites with his Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp for a new take on the iconic gun-slinging, horse-riding duo. Armie Hammer will play the Lone Ranger (with Depp as Tonto), and they'll be joined by the likes of Tom Wilkinson, Helena Bonham Carter and more.

Legendary horse trailer Rex Peterson was brought on board to train up the horses for the film, and in the below video you'll get to see some of his work with the Lone Ranger's famous horse, Silver. For the film they're training five beautiful white horses for the role of Silver, with each serving different purposes. Watch Silver in action for the first time below. The Lone Ranger hits theaters on May 31, 2013. [via CBM]

Note: The following videos could contain spoilers for each of these films, so watch at your own risk.
