Amazing Spider-Man still

With all the talk of The Avengers doing huge business at the box office, and people prepping for the arrival of The Dark Knight Rises, it’s easy to forget that there’s another big superhero movie swinging into theaters this summer – Sony’s The Amazing Spider-Man. The studio is doing all it can to keep the upcoming reboot front and center in everyone’s summer movie plans – and they’ve just released a ton of new material to get you ready for the July 3rd release date. We’ve rounded it all up and spun it into this handy post so you don’t have to scour the web for all the arachnid goodness.

Late last week, rumors started to circulate that a new six minute preview clip of the film would screen before Men In Black 3 when it opens this week, but skeptics were doubtful. After all, we just had a four minute preview clip, so it seemed too soon to reveal another significant chunk of the film.

Turns out, Sony disagrees – and there will indeed be a new six minute clip prior to MIB3. This is savvy marketing on Sony’s part – because it might actually convince people to pay to go see a third Men in Black film.

The new clip will only be available in IMAX  – so don’t head over to your traditional multiplex expecting to see this promo. Maybe that’s for the best – save something for when the film is actually available in theaters. [via ComicBookMovie.com]

If you can’t get to an IMAX theater, you’ll have to settle for the next best thing – which is this new 30 second TV promotional spot for the film and a picture of Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone looking young and in love as Peter Parker and Gwen Stacey (check out the HQ version here). Finally, we’ve got two new videos featuring Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors – better known as The Lizard – that give us not only some insight into the character (who’s always struck us as one of the more tragic figures in Spidey’s gallery of enemies), but also a viral clip recruiting for OsCorp, the company he works for.

Ifans might be our favorite bit of casting for the new film – check out the clips and see if you agree.
