If you want to know everything you possibly can about Marc Webb’s Spider-Man sequel before plopping your butt into a theater seat on May 2, then these videos will be a highlight of your day.
The first one here is pretty innocent – it just shows us Spidey web-slinging his way through the city, showcasing what is perhaps the most thrilling aspect of these new Spider-Man movies, not to mention how far special effects have come since Sam Raimi's Spider-Man movies from just a few years ago.
The next clip, meanwhile, features Webb and Andrew Garfield talking about the script of the new film and character motivations, all while superimposing it over scenes from the upcoming movie. It touches on the Sinister Six, Gwen Stacy and the setup for the third feature (which Sony will probably start hyping sometime this week). It’s not particularly spoiler heavy, but if you want to see all this stuff for the first time in the theater, you may want to skip it for now. [via IndieWire]
Warner Bros. confirms DC Comics film "series" in the works
Marvel is killing it with movie releases left, right and center – and DC is still struggling to get franchises off the ground. It's not throwing in the towel, though – as Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara points out in some recent comments.
“Two new television shows are coming to the CW and Fox, including one based on the Flash and another on a young Batman, and a film series will be announced in the near future.”
We suspect this will finally be official confirmation that the long-awaited Justice League movie is once again moving forward. DC and Warner Bros. really need to get that property up and running, as it’s essentially their answer to The Avengers. [via Blastr]
You’ll never guess who wants to be president in the Ukraine
If you’ve been following along with the whole political drama in the Ukraine, you know the country is in need of some strong leadership – and who stronger to square off against Russian President Vladimir Putin than the Dark Lord of the Sith himself? That’s right – Darth Vader has announced he’s running for president. We’ve got footage of his official press conference to prove it.
Vader has a full contingent of imperial soldiers in the awesome video, and while we have no idea what his platform is, we can kinda guess based on his previous political duties. Check out the very cool video below. [via Gizmodo]
