The first trailer for David O. Russell’s adaptation of Matthew Quick’s novel The Silver Linings Playbook has officially launched, and you can check it out below.
Bradley Cooper headlines as a former teacher who spent several years in a mental institution and then moves in with his family in an attempt to put his life back together. Things get interesting when he starts developing a relationship with his neighbor (Jennifer Lawrence) – a woman with mental problems of her own.
Featuring a big-name cast that includes Cooper, Lawrence, Robert De Niro, and Chris Tucker, the debut clip looks pretty entertaining, although a bit “sugary.” We guess that’s sort of expected when you label your film as a “family drama comedy and love story” – which is such a mouthful that it doesn’t even have a cutesy abbreviated form like “dramedy.” Maybe they can call it a “famdramromcomedy.” I can totally see that catching on…
At any rate, Silver Linings Playbook opens on November 21st – just in time to generate potential buzz for awards season. Please take a look at the clip below and let us know what you think.
