We've still not quite forgiven video game publisher Sega (and developer Gearbox) for the absolutely dreadful Aliens sequel Aliens: Colonial Marines, but the company is doing its best to win us back into the Xenomorph video game fold with today’s news.
Sega has revealed that the latest title in the series, Alien: Isolation, will feature not only the voice talents of Sigourney Weaver, but also her Alien costars Tom Skerritt, Yaphet Kotto, Harry Dean Stanton and Veronica Cartwright. That’s most of the original film’s cast, minus Ian Holm, who will not be back. For an Alien geek, this is pretty awesome news.
While the main game follows Ellen’s daughter, Amanda, as she searches for her mother 15 years after the events in the original film, there’s a downloadable content pack titled Last Survivor that will be offered as a bonus to people preordering the title. Weaver and crew recorded all new dialogue for the Last Survivor DLC, which has us even more interested in playing it.
Alien: Isolation will be available for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on October 7. Check out a trailer for the DLC above.
