There are only two films left before Steven Soderbergh follows through on his promise to retire from filmmaking – and we’ve got the new trailer for one of them right here. Yahoo! Movies scored the exclusive debut for Soderbergh’s last theatrical feature (his final film is being made for HBO), the drug-based drama Side Effects (formerly titled Bitter Pill).
When we say “drug-based,” we don’t mean like Breaking Bad or New Jack City. Instead, Soderbergh’s film appears to focus on how a drug used for treatment of psychological issues may have some side effects that aren’t so awesome. The tale is told through what happens to Rooney Mara’s character.
We can’t really get much more in-depth than that, because unlike recent trailers (which seem hell-bent on spoiling everything in a film before we ever buy a ticket), Side Effects keeps things very vague.
What we do know is that Soderbergh has assembled an all-star cast, including Mara, Jude Law, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Channing Tatum to help bring his project to life. Side Effects will make its theatrical debut on February 8, 2013.
