There's something very Friday the 13th: Jason Takes Manhattan about this first clip from Sharknado 2: The Second One, and it may have to do with its inclusion of a campy, over-the-top action scene set in Manhattan's underground subway system. Remember this shot?
Anyway, Sharknado's surprising success has of course inspired a sequel, this time set in New York City during another crazy shark attack. In this three-minute scene, star Ian Ziering reprises his role from the first movie and does his best to rescue a bunch of bewildered Manhattanites when sharks pummel their way through the city's underground tunnels and into one of its subway cars. Funny thing is, if you're familiar with riding New York's subways, this probably isn't the worst thing you've ever seen on a train before.
Sharknado 2: The Second One premieres on the Syfy channel this July 30.
