Here’s the latest on three big sequels due out in the not-too-distant future.
Arnold Schwarzenegger says Terminator: Genesis is like T2
Arnold Schwarzenegger is out doing promotional appearances for his upcoming action film Sabotage, but that doesn’t mean the guys over at IGN couldn’t get him to talk a bit about the upcoming Terminator: Genesis. Fans should be pleased by what the former Governator has to say.
Arnold tells IGN that he expects the sequel will have the feel of an earlier film in the series, James Cameron’s much-loved Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
“But Terminator is going to have the exact same feel. The way it reads, it has the same feel of Terminator 2. It’s big. There’s hard-core action and it has some really great visual effects in there, but not over the top. It’s not a Thor type of movie, even though it’s the same director. It has good special effects, but just enough to say, ‘Wow, where did that come from? How did they do that?’”

Jurassic World director reveals which character will be back for sequel
Filming on Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic World is set to begin next month, and the sequel promises to continue the story started in the three previous films. That’s cool, but don’t expect that to mean all your favorite characters will be back battling dinos. Trevorrow has revealed that only one character from the original will be returning, and it’s probably not who you’re thinking.
Trevorrow says that actor B.D. Wong will be back as Dr. Henry Wu. Wu’s character was featured prominently in Michael Crichton’s novel, and was the key engineer in bringing the dinosaurs back from extinction. The filmmaker thinks there’s more to that story, whereas bringing back the main characters would feel forced.
As for stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, Trevorrow has this to say:
“[Pratt] is a classic hero in a very modern context. He’s the guy who will get you through the jungle alive – but like Malcolm, Grant and Sattler, he’s an expert in a scientific field that’s connected to our story. The character allows us to explore some new ideas about our relationship with these animals, without losing the humor and sense of adventure. He’s a great contrast for Howard’s character, who starts off very corporate, very controlled. Until the running and screaming starts. Then they need each other.”
